The $1,000,000 Dinosaur Fossil
I am Jake and I am going to tell you how I became $500,000 richer.
One day I was digging in a deserted area with one of my friends, Bob. We had been digging for a whole hour when I suddenly struck something with the pick I was using. It was hard, so I felt an uncomfortable feeling up my arms. I shouted to Bob and he came rushing over with some tools. First he took out a pick and helped me dig a bit deeper.
It was white, so we weren't sure if it was a dinosaur bone or something else. I reached into the tool box and pulled out a couple of brushes to get the last pieces of dirt off it. It took another five minutes but in the end it was a huge dinosaur bone. We started to dig in the areas around it and found some more and they were from the same dinosaur.
It took us all day to remove the dirt so all the bones could be revealed. I phoned the local museum and they came right away. We were given $1,000,000 and we took the offer. But since there were two of us we got $500,000 each. We were on the news that night and we were proud of it. The next day I turned on the TV and there was a news report that said the dinosaur fossil had been stolen out of the museum!
I called Bob in to the room so he could see what I was seeing. All the speaker said was that the robber was Billy, one of the most famous robbers of all. Bob and I went for a walk but we saw Billy robbing a jewelery store. We followed him to his hideout and stole it from his room of valuable things. We took a bit of money as a reward. We took the fossil back to the museum without anybody noticing.
