A Pet Sitter that Needs Special Instructions

One day my mum and I went to the animal shelter to get a pet for me. There was a huge range of animals to choose from but I chose a little Dalmatian. I decided to call him Bingo. I arrived back home with him in my arms. We made a bed out of a basket and some cut up sheets then we put it in my room at the foot of my bed.

We put Bingo’s food bowl and his water downstairs in the corner of the kitchen after we had finished with his bed. One Saturday night my Mum had to go to a very important meeting. Unfortunately there was nobody available to take care of Bingo at the time except for Uncle Tom who was blind but Mum didn’t know that.

Mum decided to leave a piece of paper on the kitchen bench with a list of instructions. We left five minutes after Uncle Tom had arrived. He walked around looking for the sheet of paper. He found it but he thought it was a tissue; he picked it up and blew his nose on it then threw it in the bin, he found Bingo and picked him up but Bingo scratched him.

Uncle Tom dropped him and fell over. He couldn’t get up so he had a rest. When he woke up Mum and I had arrived back from the meeting. We thought he had gotten sleepy and lay down on the floor. He went home but as he was walking through the doorway I saw the scratch on his cheek. I went into the kitchen and couldn’t find the instructions so I checked the bin. I found it and read the first instruction…

DON’T PICK UP THE DOG!!!
