Honesty, trust I believe in this all
With kindness and courage we can stand very tall
To great plains and oceans
To see the true emotions
We honour friendship with great thought and fun
Together we can face whatever we have done
We live as one with peace and harmony
To see each other without fear or agony
All this makes me proud to be an Australian
With as many good thoughts as the colours of a chameleon

What is THRASS?
THRASS is a program that helps you spell words. There are THRASS boards that have words on them and each word symbolises a sound that is in bold e.g. leg. The "l" is the sound. You can also say it in a chant. There are three different sheets. Each one has different things on them. One board has all the consonants, another has all the vowels and the other has all the sounds that are symbolised by the other boards.
They also have pictures of the words to help people read them.THRASS is not only a few boards and a chant but it can also be turned into a game. What you do is get somebody to collect some THRASS cards. The cards have the words and the pictures from the THRASS boards. The person holding the cards doesn’t show the rest of the people the words. They pick the top one and read it aloud then the rest of the people have to look at the THRASS board and say the words that stand for the sounds in the word on the card.
THRASS stands for Teaching Handwriting Reading And Spelling Skills.

First Verse from Faith and Despondency
" THE winter wind is loud and wild,
Come close to me, my darling child;
Forsake thy books, and mateless play;
And, while the night is gathering grey,
We'll talk its pensive hours away;–

A quote from the Wind in the Willows
"There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats... simply messing."

Medieval Studies
For my medieval studies I did medieval weaponry. The activity that I did for the class was that they had to create a medieval weapon of and type. If the weapon that they created uses ammo then they could also invent a new type of arrow or a catapult ball.
They can draw the outline of the weapon and then add the details and label it. Then they can put patterns on it and colour it in.

The Moon and the Stars
One day there was a tribe of aborigines and in that tribe there lived a family that contained a mum, a dad and two children. One day the two children went outside and started to throw some sticks in the air. They made a game of it and they played it every day. The aim of the game was to see who could throw the stick the highest. In a few days they told their mum and their dad about the game. The day after that when the dad was hunting he told one of his friends about the game.
This man also had children so he told them about it. The children liked it so they told their friend and soon the game was known all around the tribe. Children were playing it everywhere and even some of the adults were joining in. The game became so popular that the leader of the tribe decided to have a championship.
The leader said to spread the word about the championship. On the day almost everybody was at the championship. Even people from other tribes came along to watch. There were about 30 contestants. When it came to the 17th contestant he threw the stick so high that it got stuck in the sky. It broke into many pieces but they somehow joined back together again.
But when the pieces joined back together again there made the shape of a sphere. When it left the atmosphere it caught fire and started to grow. That night there was huge ball in the sky that lit up the world. A few months later people saw little balls in the sky that had broken off the big ball of wood. The big ball of wood was called the moon and the smaller pieces were called the stars.

Castle Website
You will work in a small group of 4 students. You should select the roles of Lord, Architect, Carpenter, and General. Once you have done this, you must name your castle and draw a banner to accompany it, including your coat of arms.

FISH! Philosophy
The FISH! Philosophy is made out of four simple principles:
Play
Make Their Day
Be There
Choose Your Attitude
Play
Make your day fun with music or a book. If you are waiting for something in the shops then you might want to bring a portable game or a newspaper with a cross word or other puzzles.
Make Their Day
If you see someone who looks a bit sad then sit down and talk to them. You might even be able to make them laugh with a joke.
Be There
If you don't want to go to a soccer match and your team is one player short then it will be harder for them and they might lose.
Choose Your Attitude
"I don't want to go to school, Ms X is really mean!"
"Come on, she'll be all right."
"No, she's really mean!"
This person just should have gone to school and done their best.
On a visit to Seattle, a man called Christensen saw the Pike Place Fish Market. He noticed that the workers were making their disgusting, smelly job fun. Workers would often invite customers to join in and watch them catch and throw the fish. There were catching a crowd and selling lots of fish.
Imagine if they did the FISH! Philosophy in the pet store!
